getting back in

According to Ecotech's calculator, two MP10s running at 100% are just enough for SPS. They did well for me. I supplemented a little bit by making sure the return pump was very powerful.

And if you're fairly comfortable with basic wiring, I have two outstanding LED units that are plenty strong enough for SPS in a 90 for $500 total. They're great DIY units, but they are</em> DIY, so you have to have a basic (very basic) idea of what's what.

yea i was searching the forum for a photo of what i was looking for and your tank came up lol and thanks i'm good on lights i bought this setup yesterday below, just needs some bulbs and i will probably end up getting 2x wp25's everyone seems to recommend them

T5s are terrible. Don't listen to Brandon (SnowManSnow). Have you seen</em> his ugly corals? They're all big and colorful and grow fast and stuff. I guess maybe if you're in to that

ok so im cycling my tank for the last week i put a large uncooked shrimp in there to start the cycle last monday its a 90G with a sump im not sure of the sump size maybe a 20G long could be bigger bought it as a package from another member on this forum anyway i left last thursday for some business in new york i returned yesterday and check the perimeters and the ammonia is only 0.50PPM nitrite is 0 and nitrate is 0 should i add another large shrimp?

oops sorry also has 70 lbs of dry rock and 80 lbs of sand

I've never used the shrimp and dry rock method, but it's my understanding (and I could be wrong) that it'll take much longer than a week to really get started. I know Jenn always recommends supplementing with Stability from Seachem.

We used the shrimp and dry rock method. Our 90 long cycled in two and half weeks. We added Stability to it as well.

I know I'm kind of late on this but I'll throw my .02 cents out there anyways. I use to have LED lights, I had the AI sol blue, AI vega and the radions. Guess what I'm using now?...... T-5's and my corals are thanking me for it. As for someone saying the two MP10's aren't going too enough for that tank, well it is enough. I have two of them in my 90 and they are only running at 75% and my SPS are happy with the flow. No dead spots anywhere because I can see food fly all over my tank when I feed frozen. Oh and that picture you used of Shanes tank for the loc lines, well that's no longer his tank. IT MINE NOW!!! lol

lol thanks for all the replies guys the ammonia is rising so i guess its on track i ordered a bottle of that stability stuff guess it couldnt hurt
