Hey all, I took my 8 gallon DIY LED biocube down a long time ago. Its been a couple years now I think? Heres the link to the old tank: http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42864&page=2">http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42864&page=2</a>
Then a few months ago I decided to start a freshwater tank:

But now I have decided to get back in the game with a 5 gallon desktop pico reef.
I decided to go as simple as I can for this tank.
Tank:
Deep Blue 5 gallon tank (for the black silicone)
Lighting:
BoostLED Par30 bulb (2 royal blue, 1 regular blue, 1 neutral white, 1 cool white) on a desktop lamp from Lowes.
Marineland Hidden LED bar to supplement until I can get my hands on a better, smaller led bar. (The par30 is strong enough but has too much of a spotlight effect)
Filtration:
Marineland c160 canister filter
Heater:
Fluval M silver heater 50 watt
I'm going to use a canister filter with nothing but filter floss and purigen. People say canister filter and reef tanks dont go together but I just figure I can dump the water out of the canister every week or two as a water change. We'll see what happens.
I still need to acquire most of the essentials (rock, sand, salt, rodi unit, etc). If anyone has anything for sale please let me know. I am hoping to get this tank cycling within the next few days.
