getting rid of coraline algae?

I'll have to give it another shot!

I did find that I had to wrap the outside magnet with something to keep the outside from scratching - I guess with the lack of water, there's too much friction. I picked up a pack of 3 lexan/acrylic cleaning cloths from Lowe's (in the section with the acrylic), and it's lived on there for the past three years. The inside pads last me about 3 months before needing replacing....

It's stiff enough to work, but soft enough not to scratch the acrylic. I made a handle for one out of some scrap wood so I could reduce accidental fragging from cleaning the tank.

I only use a Mag float well away from the substrate....

awesome! ill try that. i love cheap things

wow, cards work wonders! is it bad that I really did use my ARC card? ha. Thanks so much!

For me it all exploded after adding my last batch of LR about 5 months ago. One piece was covered in it. About a month or so later it started showing up on other rocks that I had. Now it's everywhere. And if it's plastic, you can bet it's purple as purple can be. Even the new moon light I added into the tank a couple of weeks ago now has the stuff.

well the plastic card is really the best thing ive found. it still takes some elbow grease.

i did get a blue tuxedo urchin and he's helped some. plus he's just really cool
