Has this ever happen to anyone before? I notice that whenever I run GFO, I get brown algae bloom. I started to run it a little over a month ago and I notice that I had a really bad case of brown algae all over my sand and glass. At first I thought it was due to me feeding heavy so I stopped giving my fish nori sheets and back on the frozen food a little. About a week later I notice the brown algae had went away at which time I had also removed my GFO. Regardless, I still thought it was due to over feeding.

About a couple of days ago, I hooked up my BRS dual media reactor and I'm running GFO and carbon in it and I came home today to see my tank covered in brown algae all over my glass. So I'm really starting to think it's the GFO. Has anyone have the same problem or am I just going crazy?

I had the oppisite happen, I had brown algae untill I added the same reactor, I dont even have to clean my glass anymore but once a week and thats to get the pods off. I think it comes from the frozen food myself. When I see a lil bit of the brown stuff coming back I know my gfo is about shot. JME
