My wife's sinularia has turned completely ghost white... like brand new paper-colored white. It isn't "melting" or anything; in fact it is standing up and looking completely normal other than it looks like it just got a fresh coat of paint. It has been this way for over a week and shows no sign of any other problem like wilting, shriveling or melting away.

I can post a pic tonight, but any ideas? The few people (OK, one) I've asked say that in every case they've seen of a leather "nuking", they have melted...

No way... it's on the bottom and getting MAYBE 100 PAR. Her light is due for a new bulb and is only making 350 at the surface.

You got me... my toadstool does the same, but it never loses its color; it just has no PE for a couple of days and looks "rough" and then it returns to normal.
