Glass Crabs?!?!?!

Okie dok....saw something very interesting today when I got home from work...did my typical feeding and noticed something rather large climbing vertically up the glass....A HERMIT CRAB!!!!!....in my what seems to be right mind thought well they feed off the floor and not the glass...has anyone else ever seen this or heard of such thing?!?! :huh:

Never seen it personally. I had one go halfway up on the seam of the tank, but it was my understanding these couldn't climb sheer glass.

You probably have something on the glass you can't see, like micro algea. They are expert cllimbers with those big shells and can climg onto any imperfection in or on the glass. I have had several hermits climb the glass. Always interesting to see how far they can make it.

your just mad b/c u dont have the good stuff like i do lol j/k...but anyways we finished up with athens regional hospital today so we got off early!!! woot woot!:yay:

well empty all but a couple inches of water out of the tank...leave sand...empty all but a few inches out of the refugium...SAVE the water and bring it with you....if you need buckets let me know...I need about 10 gallons of water with

sounds like a plan! I'll prob need a bucket or two I just have 2x6gal buckets at the house but ill fill those two up and what about the LR and xenia and etc. that is in the tank?

uhmmmmm the xenia and all I can put in mine whether the 18 or the 30...try not to stir the substrate...put the rock in buckets...I will only use 10 gallons or so of the water thats in the 30...we can even put the rock thats in the 30 in the 54 until you get it moved..It has a powerhead in it...when your set up and ready you can have the xenia back...np

Dan will be home by 3 you can stop over and get one or two thats in the garage
