I have a jbj28, and have added my first inhibitants last week, a Oceleras Clown Pair with anemone. The next livestock I want to add is a goby/shrimp combo and a yellowhead jawfish. Do you see any compatability issues with this combination, should I add one before the other or both at the same time. Thanks for any insight. Joe

Unless your sand bed takes up 1/2 the tank, you likely will have an unhappy jawfish (I mean, they look grumpy anyways, but it will likely be stressed). You can make PVC burrows for them to help ease the pain of a shallow sand bed.

Agreed, plus with that small of a tank there likely will be conflict between the goby and jawfish.

This probably isn't the norm, but my experience with pistol shrimp is that if there are any other burrowers in the tank (and my experience was with a 20 gallon long, so small tank) they will likely end up as a meal for the shrimp.

That being said, the goby/shrimp pair is my absolute favorite symbiotic relationship in the marine aquarium. I know, I'm a dork, I have a favorite symbiotic relationship. ;)

LOL, I'm a Dork too. The shrimp/goby pairs have a soft spot with me.

Don't worry about being a dork.. 99% of are fish nerds through and through..

Even though its uncommon (read: almost nonexsistant) my favorite of all SR would have to be cleaner shrimp when they help clean a large Moray Eel's mouth. The picture of the cleaners in a Greens mouth is beyond words.. Should be/could be a snack..

A pistol/goby and jawfish in a nano is a bad idea. The jawfish will never get comfortable and will be too stressed to survive....
