Is this Goni having issues or is that normal to see white tufts? Debating on if I should move him but wasn’t sure. I’ve tried blowing it off and it’s definitely stuck on there

Either way, the white spots look to be missing flesh. Was the coral dropped or handled recently? Maybe something is taking nips at it?

Here’s a few photos of my acan putting out little clumps that I have figured out are the filaments. I thought it was skeletal or pests at first so it was a scary learning curve. Sorry some of the photos are not clear, but you can see the gist of how it looks hopefully. They come and go but the coral has stayed healthy and happy. Have you had the coral for a while or done recent water changes? I usually see them during snd after a water changes.

Apparently today the filaments are all gone. I have been applying Metroplex with focus in the fish food because of a sick fish so it’s entirely possible it didn’t like it and now that the medicine has worn off, it’s happy again. Sadly one of my encrusting corals didn’t appreciate the metroplex and half of it died

Oh good I’m glad the brain is okay! I was hoping that’s what it was for you. Sorry to hear about the encruster though, at least it wasn’t too bad and a good lesson about meds learned without much loss
