Found this on craigslist a moment ago.....1. good deal? 2. big enough for a 210? i know absolutely nothing about reactors..

MRC-CR1 Calcium Reactor, 5lb CO2 Bottle + Bubble counter + relay with Mag2 pump and MaxiJet 1200

You must have a lot of SPS that isn't listed in your sig line, otherwise I'd question the use of a reactor......

NO SPS - Im so glad you said that - I dont WANT one. I think I am missing a vital peice of equipment im just not sure what..

I run a skimmer and UV and thats it - i do not dose anything using a controller (i do use fuel, PH Buffer, and occasionaly purple up) and dont use kalk (which im not 100% sure i should be)

What is your calcium level currently? How often you do waterchanges? What salt do you use?

For years, calcium was the oly additive I occasionally used

My calcium level sits right about 450, I havent checked in 2 weeks (neighbor borrowed my test).

I do 20% every other week, sometimes every week depending on how nasty it gets.

I used IO regular salt but just switched to AV Salinity - my WC last weekend was the first 40 gal of AVS to my system and i will do another 40 gal this weekend.

SG - 1.023
TEMP - 81.5 (normally 78 but battling ich)
PH - 8.3 (moves between 8.1-8.3 thru the day)
AM - 0
NI - 0
NA - less than 10 ppm ALWAYS, generally less than 5 if at all
DKH - between 8-12 (havent checked in a bit, neighbor has that test too)

Maybe just keeping up with the jones'? I guess I keep hearing about all these dosers and reactors ppl are using and maybe think I am missing something.

Until I added my MRC Calcium Reactor I was getting good growth on my SPS, afterwards it grew like my Zenia! They do make a difference if you are really wanting to grow SPS.

I'm glad you posted the question, as if you'd have added the reactor, you'd have certainly thrown off your other parameters. Unknowingly, you just dodged a bullet by foregoing this particular piece of equipment.
