Can anyone tell me of a good heater? I just paid $60 for a titanium finnex heater that only lasted 2weeks.thought they were pretty good maybe I just got a bad one? I have a controller so I really don't want to buy one that has a built in thermostat.any suggestions?

+4. And they dont cost much. Noticed they are backordered but on sale at drsfostersmith.com.

As you've learned, finnex is junk. I've been preaching for nearly a decade how they are the worst heaters in the world. Anyhoo, Jager FTW. I even have my classic Ebo's that are still working flawlessly (although I still change heaters every few years..@ 5 yrs or so, just for good measure)

Jager Ehiem (still the same basic design but now has an adjustable thermostat)

I've replaced who knows how many faulty heaters in peoples tanks over the years (at least several hundred). The Jager ones seem to crap out the least but I want to say it is less than 5% or so. I know that most sponsor stores should have them in stock and they aren't too pricey.

Best there is. They are pricey but not for one of the most important, most used and potentially dangerous devices in your system. JMO. You could buy the cheaper hobby level and put the money toward a $450 powerhead.;)
