I've got several different GSP frags and none of them show any signs of growing I have had them for about 3 months. I have several different kind of zoas and they are doing great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No coral around it at all. They are on ceramic discs. I've tried high in the tank and low, high flow and low.

So are the polyps extended or is it just the purple mat? What are your params? How old is your tank? What type of lighting?

From what I know, which is not much mind you lol it is not picky as far as placement.
I have a huge colony and I love it but I do keep a close eye on it beacuse I have MH and it grows like crazy.

As of next month, my GSP frag is a year old, and is still confined to the same plug I bought it on (2" x 2"), and hasn't grown a bit...guess that's just the way it goes sometimes.

I'd venture to say most would say it's not such a bad thing that we cannot grow GSP in our systems...kind of like a freshwater planted tank hobbyist who can't get duck weed to grow...perhaps we should count our blessings

I have had the same size patch of gsp in my tank for 2 years now. Is open and happy just does not grow. I can't keep xenia alive either. So to each its own.

I got some and split the colony. In my 10g under compact florescent lights it thrived, in my 120 under t5s it receded. Then when the 10g failed on me, I moved the healthy colony back, not expecting much and it really took off, even placed in the same place. It's odd stuff sometimes.

Doubtful that is has anything to do with iron. Likely many other trace elements before I would guess iron. Like they said, it usually comes down to the colony; at the moment im in the same boat... Super healthy GSP colony on a 2 inch disk that hasn't done much growing (then again they haven't been glued permanently to a rock yet).
