GSP Has been receded for days

HI all,

Suddenly my GSP has stopped coming out. There were no lighting changes and my parameters seem to be in check (Mg may be a little high?)

Any ideas?

Temp: 78 F
Salinity: 1.026
PH: 8
KH: 10.1
Ca: 480
Mg: 1600
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0.05
Nitrate: 2

I am having some agae issues pop up as well. Very annoying!!

Not sure how to edit on here but Phosphate is immeasurable right now as well. Shows up as 0.

All testing done with Red Sea kits and Phosphate done with Salifert.

Looks like Green Cyano to me. I would drop the whites a lot to start.

Interestingly I do not ever run my whites. I just used them for the pic.

GSP just closes up sometimes in my experience the two may not be related. Looks like s small new tank, Do a 20% waterchange, run some charcoal and see what that gets you.

Roger that, thanks. It's newer- about 2 months. 75 gallons. Just changed out 30 gallons so hope it helps!

My GSP does the same thing. I remember hitting up a few members about a year ago saying "What the heck is going on?!?!" because the GSP was totally retracted. A water change never hurts but if it was growing well and just decided to close up for no good reason I'd say you're fine.

Good deal, frankly if you figure out how to kill GSP you could bottle up your water and sell it.

Is this a new tank, nitrate should be at zero. Do you know what your phosphate level is?
