Gsp is destroying my tank. Its encroaching on my rbta now. Any worries?

So far im lucky its not scaling my sps colonies (just hurting the bases). Its killed some mushrooms, zoas, and grew over a nice monti...ugh, i hate this stuff now. If it were not on the base rock of a fixed rockscape id throw it out. Now to just setup a new t an k and transplant my good corals...hopefully before they're all gsp'd

They sell gsp for $50 for a nice size rock at the lfs, maybe you can donate to some beginner reefer

I'd take a little off your hands! haha

But as for your question, I had a huge rock of it a while back, and i found it just kinda grew around everything. I had SPS, Zoa's, and other stuff touching it, but didn't really have any issues.

be careful, it will smother/kill other corals so you might want to get a razorblade and cut off the base around the areas you don't want to grow.

Don't let this happen to you....

Oh ill be there soon. I tried to cut it back, but it would only make it grow faster. I just hope i can set up a new tank before this one is ruined.

Its all based on the most critical part of my rockwork, i dont know anything else to do but maybe buy all new rock and just start over in this tank but i worry that'd just nuke it.

I would protect the bta , either try a razor blade or some side clippers and just remove it . The cutters may mark the face of the rock some but is much faster than cutting/scraping it off .
Good luck with it whatever you decide to do.
