I have been busy with work and neglected the tank for a couple months now. It is amazing how fast your tank can go down hill when you neglect it. I have not changed the R.O. filters for some time as well, nor have I change the gfo and carbon in the sump. I know (shame on me). Needless to say, I had a hair algae problem. Over the past 2 weeks, I have updated the ro, gfo and carbon, and have done 2 water changes. I have the hair algae sort of under control, but now I am noticing a bad aptasis out break. I haven't introduced anything new in the last 6-7 months. A couple other folks I have talked to have had similar situation, after hair algae problem, the outbreak with aptasia. Is this common? I haven't really had a problem with aptasia before and could not believe the growth rate, along with the hair algae. Is there a common link between the 2 that speeds up the growth rate?
