Hairy Mushroom Fragging

I have a pretty good size hairy mushroom. Can I just cut a small pie wedge out of it without cutting off the cap and then cutting through the mouth to frag it? I would be doing this with a very sharp pair of scissors. Thanks Mike:thumbs:

What I have seen on youtube is they cut through the mouth and then use bridal vail material and hold it to a rock until it attaches.

I think the mushroom is a distant cousin to the anemone, need to cut the mouth and half.

I've had a bunch of these previously. You could also leave it alone and it will split on its own.

+1 mine split quite often...why risk losing it?

I think I will just let it produce babies on its own. It is too beautiful to cut. it is one of the nice green ones. thanks everyone for the info.

I've fragged many different types of mushrooms. IMO the "fuzzy" shrooms are by far the hardest to work with. they cut fine, but getting them to reattach, even with bridal veil holding the frag to a rock, is a PITA. Let 'em grow, He'll split before you know it.
