Hammerhead impeller stuck

need ideas on how to get this off. It seems like it’s galvanized on. Need to get it off to replace shaft seal. Even with vice grips on one end and me trying to hold/turn the impeller my wife and I can’t get it to budge.

I’m about to spray rust remover in there as best I can but REALLY DONT want to deal with the cleanup and risk involved.

Ideas?

Then clean with WD40, followed by vinegar

We’ll i bought a strap wrench and hosed the area down best I could with the pb listed above. I sprayed from the motor side of the seal and the volute side but I can’t get the thing to budge. It’s really hard to get the seam where it screws on so I just soak the crack down in there

Im not sure how long to wait befor I have to just break the impeller apart.

My wife and I tried several tunes and we can’t break it loose after an hour or two of soaking

I had the same issue. I got the biggest screwdriver I had and stuck it inside the impeller. The other side, vice grip like you do but have it against the table rather then holding it. Ended up chipping a bit off of the impeller but after all was done, it was unnoticeable.
