What do ya'll do, if anything, to prepare to put your hands in your tank.

+1

Also not a good idea if you have cologne, perfume, lotion, etc. on your skin. Better to wash it off first (plain liquid soap is also better), then a good rinse. -JMHO

Rinse only unless I've handled something bad (bleach, lotion, cologne) in which case a wash and several rinses.

I only rinse too. If I think I may have cologne or lotion I will do soap. The reason I'm asking is is because of specific coral that slime up a little after I put my hands in the water. Mostly a few of my acroas. This has always happened but just wanna see if this happens to other people and what they do to prepare. Seems like I'm on track with most others. I've heard its good to rinse with a vinegar solution.

Latex gloves for handling frags or anything outside the tank and heavy shoulder length gloves for going deep or handling rock.

I'd do this if I had the discipline (or could remember to buy the gloves someday).

Yea...i don't have that excuse. I have both types of gloves. But I'm more like (with my hands in the tank)..'I should have put the gloves on before doing this'. And then I nurse a bristle worm sting for the next few days....

I appreciate all the input! I tell ya what, I don't know how I'd manage without ARC!!!!!

No washing, thats why I bought a skimmer.

Seriously thou, just a good rinse.
