Has anybody built their own float switch holders?

Ok. Thanks. I'll keep looking but yeah, I think that might be a good route. I've also done a search on eBay for epoxy coated magnets. There seems to be plenty on there.

Many will depending on the magnet material under the coating.

Ceramic magnets are the best choice.
 
I made this one with some scrap acrylic rod, ABS and 1/16" carbon fiber plate. Why carbon fiber you ask? Why not! Two each high and low for max redundancy. :up:

Maybe it's just me but I don't think I would trust a magnet with a float switch, I'd want something to clamp on. Im using the Hydor smart level and I glued the sensor mounts to acrylic walls in my sumps. I know you can easily movie once fused but I did the math and testing to make sure I knew the proper level/mount.
