I have a biocube 14 that I purchased from a guy on Craigslist. Everything works just fine, save the pump. I can feel it pulse slightly when i put my hand on it, but it doesnt move any water at all.

I have no experience with these biocubes. Can anyone recommend a good pump for a replacement?

Hmmm. I dont happen to have an expendable one right now. Got one for sale cheap? :)

He has 2.. Not too far from you.

Is a maxijet small enough to fit in the biocube partition though? That space is mega tiny... That's my main concern.

Best thing to is take the old pump out and and see what it is. If I remembered the last time I had my biocube 29, it had a maxijet in it. Not sure what the Biocube 14's use. Besides most people upgraded theirs anyway, including me.

I replaced mine with a maxi-jet 600 I think.....

Really, it's plug and play, a simple conversion....

Let me know if you need a 48 watt hood to go on your BioCube 14, I still have my just sitting gathering dust and looking to sell it cheap.

I upgraded the pump on my aquapod 12(with a maxijet i forget what sizd) and im not sure the size of the chamber in the biocube compared to aquapod but it was deff a tight yet managable fit. Very worth it, the stock pump didnt do much for me..

as a note on the MJ conversion....if you have an MJ 900..the only differance between it and an MJ 1200 is the impeller. Likewise for the MJ400 & 600's. If you've got the smaller gph pump...all you need to do is change out the impeller and you'll get the higher output.
