Dose anyone heat there house with wood.I have 2 heat pumps.Would like to put in a wood burning stove for cut on some of the cost.Aquarium is in the same room were i want to put the wood stove.Would this be a problem.

I can tell you that my father grew up with a wood burning stove and two years they bought an antique one for their home. You can control the heat by adjusting the flew. However, It does get really warm in the particular room the stove is placed in. Hope this helps.

Yea like it will sweat you out of the room hot!

I heat with my wood stove. The same room as my DT. I do not have any problems. I also have heat pump also. But we mainly heat with wood.

How far away is your tank from the wood stove.

10 - 12 feet. I put a fan to move the heat to the other rooms. I also turn on the "fan only" cycle of my central unit. That pulls heat thru the returns and goes all over the hous thru the vents. It works like a charm. When we first got the wood stove, there was a couple of times we opened windows to cool down the room... LOL Didn't know what was enough wood at the time!
