I registered here about a month ago while doing research for a 55 gal tank build. After about 2 months of setting the tank up and having it cycle I finally put the first fish and corals into the tank.
I have attached some pictures of the tank and its inhabitants.
I picked up the live stock at Pure Reef, who I have always found very helpful in my decision making.
Current Tank:
55 gallon drilled overfolw
4 bulb T5 HO lights w/moon leds - Aquaticlife
Sump w/protein skimmer - aquamedic multi (sump and skimmer will be upgraded in near future)
UV filter, plumbed but not currently on.
A quick history on my fish keeping:
Started with fresh water fish as a kid, had a few 30 gals from time to time.
In college I started messing around with African Cichlids and brackish water.
Once I graduated, I convinced my step-father to get a 65 gallon tank for salt water (he had the money
that I didn't as a recent grad). The tank was a FOWLR which started me down my current path.
After getting comfortable with his tank, I invested in a 75 gallon FOWLR tank which I kept for a number of years before selling it to a friend of mine.
A couple of years after I again got the itch to get back into the hobby and picked up a 46 gal bow front that was mainly a FOWLR, but I started dabbling in some corals, mushrooms and such. This tank again lasted a few years until I had to move and basically didn't have time to keep up with its demands.
Fast forward about 5 years and I am right back into the hobby, but more concientious on what I am doing or want to do.
