Hello

That is awesome and welcome! We've got a few freshwater folks moving into saltwater but, off the top of my head, @tonytran509 does a whole lot with freshwater too. Lurk away and feel free to ask any questions that you might have.

Hey welcome to ARC. This is an amazing place to learn. There are so many knowledgeable reefers here. And as @jcook54 said ask your questions. There are no dumb questions just unanswered ones.

Welcome it's a total different world I started freshwater about 10 years ago 3 years ago I moved to Reef tank and got rid of all things fresh and never looked back if you ask me I would never go back hope you give it a go and build yourself a amazing Reef

Thanks guys. This is a very very tight community. Such friendly and helpful people on this forum. And I’m not saying that the koi world isn’t...but it tends to get pretty cut throat as you move up the ladder.
If I get enough courage to start - it’ll be a nano. Those drop off tanks are pretty dope. I never knew rimless tanks were a thing either.
I’m still trying to figure out equipment and lighting. Then corals. And then fish.

Welcome, i am the other fresh water guy that joined like 2 weeks ago lol. But im heavily into salt now. There is a huge curve but it a nice change.

No, my buddy Russ Peters of PSKoi flew in from San Francisco to build the forms and supervise the monolithic pour. It was pretty phenomenal that we didn’t die building it.
It’s approximately 7,000 gallons with 23+ koi ranging from 10” to 30”
Add that to our running gallon total...I think you are the top dog right now.

Thanks guys. I stopped by Nemo in Duluth yesterday and it was amazing. So much so that I came back an hour later with the wife. The sales guys were super nice. I asked aabout their display tank and lighting.
Yes, I was thinking something between 30-45 gallons but still researching. I’ve read a lot about tank failures which concerns me a bit. I’ve had several freshwater tanks in the past and none have ever leaked even after 10+ years.

Most tank failures have been the non-eurobraced open tanks. They look beautiful, but lately there have been production issues. We had our Red Sea 250 pop a seam, but most of the issues have been with the larger tanks.
