HELP... APEX Ethernet Installation

It's funny, at work I'm the "go to guy" when it comes to computer stuff or rather, I'm the "go to guy" when it comes to comes to computer applications, but when it comes to anything beyond that I'm 100% lost. This fact has never been more evident than this morning when I tried to set up my APEX Ethernet. I made it past hooking up the cable from the APEX to my router, after that I was lost in the sauce...

So with that said anyone out there that has any experience setting one of these up or anyone that has "real" computer know how please help me...

Did you try to open a browser and go to

I had a problem too... finally able to get all the addresses correct and things are fine now. I sometimes have a problem connecting from my PC (on the same router), but email alerts are like clock work. (I have two status updates send to me each day, plus a "wet cabinet" alarm.)

Since you are the "go to" guy and probably know more about this than I do... here's the link. You can read through and perhaps find your problem.

I typed this into Internet Explorer and it took me to Ask.com... From that point I'm lost. The book tells me to enter in all this "stuff" but I have no idea where to enter it. It also tells me to go to Start-&gt;run and enter ipconfig / all... I did that but the "pop up" screen disappears so fast that I can't read anything on it...

Are you using a mac or a PC? If it's a mac you have to find the ip address.

What is the IP of your apex currently in the settings? I know my AC3 by default was 192.168.1.50 which is also what is listed in the Apex manual for the default. If that is the case you will need to change it to match your router's accessible range and is currently listed as -

Default Gateway…………………………….…….: 192.168.2.1

You can try setting the Apex to 192.168.2.50 which should allow you to see it on your network based on the configurations you have working on the PC. You can then try going to it using the apex address or directly by IP.

WOO HOO... It works!!! In the end it was as simple as restarting the APEX...
