I just added a yellow tang and my scopas is slashing him. I read a post about taping pictures of the bad boy on the side of the tank to make him think he has more than the new fish to worrie about. I don't even know where to start. Bubba

Honestly.. I dont see that working.. Yellows are known to be aggressive to fish in the same vein as them.. I want to add a yellow myself, but dont want to have to remove my Scopus..

Find some pics online and print them out, then tape them to the glass...try and get them to be the same size or larger...I've heard of it working but I didn't think fish could make out anouther fish from a two dimentional picture. It's worth a try. I've also heard a mirror might work.

I was the one who posted the scopas/yellow addition. For me, both were identical sizes and the yellow had to be added to the DT with the Scopas. The Scopas was the aggressor 100% since he had been in my DT some time but it wasn't too bad until feeding time. I posted about 20 pics of various tangs (scopas, yellow, purple, and sailfins) all over the tank and within a week they didn't even pay attention to one another. In fact I've caught them at night in the same cave and schooling/feeding together during the day. I would never recommend putting the 2 together unless you absolutely HAVE to.....but it worked for me (and only a 93 gallon tank). The yellow is not planned to remain in this tank....but for the time being he had to stay there.

Here's my old thread that I think you are referring to.

I will say my tank is a real oddball. I also have a yellow coris and mystery wrasse that are best buds. The mystery should have killed him day one and now the mystery is ALOT bigger and there's never been any aggression. Vodka dosing I guess....LOL. Pic of the tangs below. They are ALWAYS together. I can't say there is never any cat and mouse, but even then it's one dart and they're back together. By the way, the tangs are actually 4"+......the clams and corals in the pic are "big" :)

I would take it back. In a 75 you are going to have problems no matter what they tell you at the lfs with those 2 fish. Ask them to get you a yellow coris wrasse if that is the color you are going for or a midas blenny

I have a few pics of my scopas in my tank thread: http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38574">http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38574</a>

Post #7 has 2 pictures of my scopas, though they aren't great.
