I have the Voyager 2 setup in my 55g saltwater tank. (about 5 ½ months old now)
I am having a hard time trying to get the correct flow in the tank. Can you provide some tips/help?
Facing the tank:
Outflow from the canister filter is in the upper left corner pointing to the top right.
Voyager 2 is on the right side of the tank, about the middle of the tank and about 3 inches below the water line. I currently have it on
Medium flow and it is pointing slightly down towards the middle front glass. I have also tried the first swirl setting on the Voyager.
My problem:
Either the flow is too strong for Xenia if I point it down or not enough if I point the power head up or lower the flow and I end up with a lot of red algae/ dirt in the corners.

Parms..ect are all good. I have tons of micro stars, flat shell snails, pods from the LR. 2 turbo snails, 5 or so hermits, a serpent star that came from the LR. tomato clown and 3 damsels.

Should I put the powerhead near the bottom of the tank and point up? I'm about ready to ditch the serpent star so I can get a fighting conch or something to do a better job on the sand.

The red algae is bga its a bacteria suck it out with a hose
With power 1 head you nead to aim the flow so there is flow in the tank and the water ripples or boils on the serfice. Aim it to go across the tank long wise not at the glass
I'm not sure your problem with the zenia is not enuf info
Is it expanding
If Being blown around (not standing ) use sum rock to give it a buffer from the curent
If its not pulsing its not a problem sum don't or stop pulsing after moving to a new tank
If your tank is softies aim for 5x water volume lps/sps/softie tank go for up to 10x moving corals around to find were there happy. if tank is all sps go10x+ or infill your sandbed is floating

I have been cleaning the sand. I know i have dead spots because that is the only place it ends up. The Xenia are extended and pulsing fine. If I point the power head in front or behind them then I see a few of them being blown over by the return current.
As for the gph -
The Voyager 2 is rated for 800gph
I'm guessing i'm getting 300+ gph from the return of the filter at the top of the tank.
Would it hurt if I put the power head near the back of the tank about 1/2 way down and behind the rocks. (pointing straight to the other side of the tank)

You will cause a major sand storm if there Oppenheim and pulsing there happy I wouldn't worry about a few polops blowing around the lowest I would put a ph is halfway down pointed up a sand storm and softies is realy bad and can lead to coral death.
