I have the Voyager 2 setup in my 55g saltwater tank. (about 5 ½ months old now)
I am having a hard time trying to get the correct flow in the tank. Can you provide some tips/help?
Facing the tank:
Outflow from the canister filter is in the upper left corner pointing to the top right.
Voyager 2 is on the right side of the tank, about the middle of the tank and about 3 inches below the water line. I currently have it on
Medium flow and it is pointing slightly down towards the middle front glass. I have also tried the first swirl setting on the Voyager.
My problem:
Either the flow is too strong for Xenia if I point it down or not enough if I point the power head up or lower the flow and I end up with a lot of red algae/ dirt in the corners.
Parms..ect are all good. I have tons of micro stars, flat shell snails, pods from the LR. 2 turbo snails, 5 or so hermits, a serpent star that came from the LR. tomato clown and 3 damsels.
Should I put the powerhead near the bottom of the tank and point up? I'm about ready to ditch the serpent star so I can get a fighting conch or something to do a better job on the sand.
