Well I woke up this morning to a somewhat cloudy tank and then I noticed something white stuck to my canister filters intake and I pulled it off an it was my gbta...... So I put it in a bucket to get me by untill I could get home and do something else with him and I just checked him out and his foot is swelled severely and his mouth is poking out and his tenticles were deflated..... Any hope for this guy? I am going tomorrow to get some filter sponge to put on all of my intakes

I'd say yes... Robb had an RBTA get into a Koralia, and when he extracted the FOUR pieces, three of them lived.

I didn think about a basket! Good idea but will it make my water cloudy?

When it is healthy, no problem... I'm about to make one into four. :D

Oh wow I didn know people actually did that I thought they just let them do it naturally. Mine is in my display in a butter dish with holes all in the container because I didn have a pond basket.

If I waited for it do split, I'd get old and gray... this is the one in my wife's tank, same lineage as mine. Hers has been "fragged" before because it gets too big for her tank and starts stinging corals. Mine is about 3 years old and about 16" across and has never split, so I assume hers would behave the same.

Make sure you have LOTS of holes in that tub... don't want it to sit in poor water. You can pick up a pond basket at HD or Lowe's for cheap and zip-tie some styrofoam to it so it floats.

Yes there is barely anything left of the dish because of the holes, it's just temporary I'll get a basket tomorrow. Thank you both. Y'all always help me out when I'm in a tight spot. The arc was my best reef investment by far!!!

I've probably seen you at Ingles before too... I actually live pretty close to Rockmart. There are a few of us in this area.

Watched Rob cut up a couple nems a month or two ago. Now one of the GBTA that came from it is sitting in my tank. :-) Pretty cool to watch.

You probably have I work almost every day jut let me know when you come by my line.

Just make sure u keep a close watch on the nem. My experience on Sunday is not something I would wish on anyone. Sounds like you caught it in time but if it does die things will go bad quickly. Bob
