help identify spot on emperor

I've been out of town for a couple days and came home to find this spot on the emperor's face just below his eye. He's been doing awesome for almost 2 months and has a piranha appetite. All the parameters are fine and he also seems to be doing fine. The spot is light red with a white center. Another member suggested it might be hole in the head. I've done some researching on line but no success. :wow2:

my first guess, herpes.

My second, some kind of infection caused by rocks scraps. If he is showing no signs that the wound is affecting him, i wouldnt worry. Just keep an eye on it, if it gets bigger, trea his food with antibiotics.

But i still think it's herpes

You're just lucky that it scraped it below the eye(scales will heal if not infected). My wrasse scraped his eye, and now is blind on his right side. He still eats and everything, but that beautiful green eye it once had is now speckled black T.T
