Do BTA's spawn?

I have a large GBTA that is squirting out a very white cloudy liquid. I'm not sure if this is bad. It did this last night and again tonight just before the lights went off.

It squired the stuff out for about 20 mins until deflated. You can hardly see the back of the tank it is so cloudy.

The tank does not smell bad.

Nothing in the tank seems affected.

It is around 12"-18" in diameter. I have had it 3 or 4 years. It split a few years ago, it's split is about the same size and sits right next to it.

There is a green carpet nem nearby.

There are two RBTA in the same tank.

Tank is a 150 with 2x400w metal halides. Water quality is good.

I change 10% water each week.

Am I in trouble here?

I'll post a picture in a minute....

Edit: Here is a picture just as it started. The lights are not off and the water is much more cloudy. This went on for 30 minutes.

Heather, yes they do spawn in aquariums! :D Congratulations!!! Any video?

Please run carbon tonight and change it in the morning too! Unless you think that your tank can handle the extra proteins.

THIS IS JUST SO COOL!

WOW, I had no idea, I thought they just spit to reproduce. AWESOME Thanks for posting this.

Some nems only reproduce sexually.(forced to split by razor isn't a natural phenomenon)

The tank has cleared up some this morning. I'll do another water change today.

I never knew nems would spawn, I thought they just split.

Heath
