So I got this gorgeous Setosa colony last night from a fellow member and it looked great. Brought it home, thought I would just give it a Coral Rx dip before putting it in the tank. I just bought the dip the other day and it was my first time dipping a coral. I did what it recommended: Put 30 drops in a gallon of saltwater and put a powerhead in there to mix it up and keep it moving. The directions said that after taking it out of the mixture, to rinse with clean water. I STUPIDLY rinsed it with tap water. Only after I did that I figured that I should have done it with RODI freshwater. Anyway, the colony has been losing color over the last day and the polyps are beginning to recede. What should I do? I thought maybe it was getting too intense light so I moved it down, everything else in the tank is doing great. I just figured that it was the tap water that did it. Could it be the Coral Rx? What should I do?!?!?!?!?!?!:shout:

I would say your best bet is leaving it alone. It got rinsed in chlorine, it isn't on there now, just hope it recovers

For future reference, don't rinse in RO/DI either. They probably mean ''fresh'' salt water. I interpret this as using water from your tank in a separate container that does not have the Coral Rx in it.

That is exactly what they mean by "fresh water". I really wish they would change the wording to say something else that is much clearer then that as you are not the first person who has made this mistake. I always take a gallon of salt water out of my tank, add the CoralRX to that and then in a separate container take another gallon of salt water and that is my "fresh water".
