I never thought I’d have to write something like this, but I’m starting over from absolute zero.

My reef tank was intentionally contaminated and completely wiped out. I lost everything — my corals, fish, inverts, anemones — all the life I spent so much time, money, and care building. It’s been honestly heartbreaking.

This hobby means a lot to me. It’s more than a tank — it was peace, therapy, something I was proud of. Right now I’m trying to slowly rebuild from scratch, and I’m reaching out to see if anyone might have frags, starter corals, hardy fish, inverts, extra stuff, or even advice they’d be willing to share.

Even the smallest frag or cleanup crew member would mean more than you know.

Thank you for reading and for being such a supportive community. I truly appreciate anything at all. 🐠🌊

I have some zoas on frag plugs! They do have quite a bit of algae on them and maybe some bubble algae on them as well. If that’s ok with you than you’re welcome to a plug or two. Not sure the names but I have orange ones and some green ones. I’m in Vinnings

Awe I read your post and can relate on so many levels when you said that “this is more than just a hobby, it’s peace.” I wish you the best of luck rebuilding, I am doing the same at the moment, once I have things to share I’ll reach out!

If you're ever up this way, I have a ~1" dia. piece of purple monti that I just fragged and is coloring back up that you can have for free, if you want.

I could also possibly scrounge up a rock with a piece of red discosoma on it.

I could likely also harvest some amphipods from my refugium to help get your biodiversity re-established, if you want.

Caveat Emptor: my system has hair algae. The Monti frags are clean and I should be able to harvest pods pretty without any visible pieces of it, but it's still in my water, and you can't QT pods (effectively, anyway), so if you and/or the your tank aren't prepared to cope with it (especially if you're already trying to run lights high and don't have a functioning refugium with a mass of macro), you might want to skip on the pods. Your call.
