I'm going to replace my DIY ATO as I'm catching a little stray voltage somehow and don't want to play around with it.

I may go with the JBJ, but am considering a Cadillac model.

So, any major differences between the Tunze Osmolator and the ELOS Osmoregulator? The info on the sponsor's websites that carry them make them seem like virtually the same thing. Price is very close also.

While on the subject, if I elect to go Chevy rather than Cadillac, how about JBJ vs. Reef Fanatic?

Thanks in advance.

Not to add another one in the mix... but...

The advantage to the Tunze is the optical sensor. All the others, including the ELOS, use a float switch. You do have to make sure to wipe off the sensor periodically.

I recently faced the same decision and ended up going with the Tunze. I did a lot of research on the two, and ultimately went with the Tunze due to the optical sensor. It seems to be extremely accurate with less chance to fail.

Of all the auto topoff systems I have used (tunze, JBJ, etc..). This has been the most reliable system out of all of them. Not to mention cheap.

This has been maintenances free for the past 3 yrs that I have owned and I bought it used. :)

I use the tunze and it is perfect so far. NO issues for a year and a half or so.

Easy setup. Just keep your top off tank filled and you're good

+1 on Autotopoff.com. I use them on both of my tanks. Never had a problem with either one.

So you don't have to use a float with the Tunze. That sounds awesome since I don't have a sump and don't want a float in my display.

I do have a CPR Aquafuge 2 though that always stays at the same water level. Will that mess me up?

Thanks for the input. Two issues with autotopoff.com... one, according to the specs, the water level is adjustable from 1 to 3 inches below the tank lip. That is far too high a level in a sump, and I don't want to have to make brackets. Second, I want to buy locally if I can.

I know the Tunze is a good setup. The only sponsor who had it on their website was MRC @ $195. Tim has the Reef Fanatic @ $95, I think. I didn't find any who listed the JBJ, though I'm positive I saw one on the shelf somewhere. Einstein lists the Tunze @ $189. No club discount on any of them.

I'd like a Tunze, but budget MAY not allow it. That will leave me between the RF, which I can look at @ Keen Reef, and the JBJ... if I can find a sponsor who carries them in stock. Anybody know who carries them so I can check them out?

I used the Reef Fanatic on my last setup for over a year with zero issues - simple and reliable.

Moving to my new setup, I just added the float switch kit from DA to add to my Reefkeeper - really happy with consolidating into one unit for everything. The float switches are the same as the Reef Fanatic, but the mounting kits are very adjustable and far superior.

Heard good things about the Tunze too.

If you get this one, the "Sump Mount" kit, it has a bracket that you can adjust.
