I am upgrading my QT to a 35 gal hex my neighbor gave me. I am looking for a solid HOB filter to slap on this one. I dont want a sump or cannister filter since this is just a QT so I need LOW maintenence.

My first instinct is to put an AquaClear 110 on it beacause I use them on FW with great success. I only have 12" of width it can "HOB" since its a hex. I have been struggling to find dimensions on HOB filters to assist me in my choice.

Suggestions for a good quality HOB filter for a 35 gal tank?

We have some really nice ones in stock that are designed to hold different types of media, including a biological media which makes it much easier to use. Come by and check them out.

I prefer the Marineland Emperor series. The Aqua Clears are also very good but I find the Bio Wheels give me better biological filtration.

The AC110 may be too big but the AC 70 would fit fine. The Emperor 280 would be a good fit while the 400 need 15 inches.

Gary I'll look through my stuff downstairs but I think I've got an emperor 280 in the basement, yours if you want it.

Thanks for the advice so far guys

Colin - Sweet, let me know...thanks!

Marineland HOT magnum, I only suggest this because you can load a lot of carbon for removal of meds if you need to.
