Hot Tank -- Update

I put a Coleman battery powered fan over the sump -- here's what it has accomplished so far:

10 a.m. temp = 84.4
11:30 a.m. temp = 83.5
12:30 p.m. temp = 83.1
1:30 p.m. temp = 82.6

I'm going to continue monitoring the progress but so far, this sucker is working!!!

Nice!! thats crazy the amount of heat you were getting from your sump...

Make sure to watch out that you don't get too close to your low water level in your sump.

You should watch your sump water levels due to all your evaporation.

Glad to hear that the temps are getting more reasonable. :up:

I use a Walmart fan over my sump since I changed over my lighting. Now it comes on with the atinics and runs all day till the lights go out. Pin the temp right at 7.9-8.0 all the time. When I added the new lights it started to spike in the afternoon and be hot by the end of the night... Now its back to normal..
