Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen,

Just wanted to once again, pull on your experiences as I am currently in the market for a set of LEDs for my 60x18x30, 120g tank. I'm desperately trying to talk myself out of one of the 48" alibaba LEDs that have the built in sunrise-sunset program with remote control. If anybody has any experience or opinions of those, please chime in...

Anyway: I know many here have purchased the eShine units years and/or months ago. I've read many threads on how they grow coral, features, etc, but, I wanted to ping everyone to see how they have held up over time. Any issues with reliability, customer service, praises, regrets, etc...

I pretty much have my mind set on LEDs, but, if anybody has any reccomendations on LEDs of another brand, please chime in also. Looking to spend no more than around $700 if possible.

Thanks all!!!

Been running mine for almost three months now, seeing great coral growth and pe extensions, no problems yet. I did however order mine outside the group buy here thus a different configuration from the previous units.

I also removed the optics as it was just too much par.

Too much par???

Mind me asking what units you are running, and what size your tank is?

Thanks so much!!!

Edit: Thanks for your response. This is a big investment, and I want to get it right the first time.

Are yours dimmable?

I bought three in the first group buy. They are similar to GMPolan's except i have the 100x3w and he has the 150x3w.

The par is honestly incredible with the optics on. I took mine off to appease my corals and now get a PAR level much closer to the MH bulbs I had been using.

Thanks grant and my tank size is a 250 (72 x 30 x 24) and no they are not dimmeable

Got it. Thanks so much, fellas...

So, I take it you all got 3 of the 18" units??? I was considering 3 of those myself. Trying to get this spread, thing figured out...

Also: It sounds like the 100watt units should be more than enough...

I was part of crews group buy and I was the only one that got the new 4g model. Solid construction and IMO better than the MM units. One thing I don't like is the lack of an on/off switch but that really isn't an issue after you get your timer setup. The par is high. I haven't taken off my optics but I may do so soon. I was giving it 6 months to see if the coral adapted.

Clay4AU: I responded to your PM ( i think it went through). BTW: WAR EAGLE!!!

Looks like the 4g units aren't that unreasonably priced. So, the group buy was a couple of months ago, correct? What's the longest period of time anybody's been running them on a daily basis? Any issues besides too much par???

Thanks all!!!

Got it. Thanks all for the feedback. Probably going to take a closer look. Definitely want dimmable...

What are your thoughts? Would I need 3 18" units, or would 2 cover me? 60x18x24...
