How best to get rid of brown algae?

Hey all,

Have some brown nuisance algage. GREAT for my lawnmower blenny which is chowing down like there is no tomorrow (and getting big!) but it is kind of bothersome on the front pane of glass. Should I get a scrubber or just reduce the amount of time the light is on?

If it's brown and slimy, it's diatom growth caused my silicate present in the water. Unclean source water is where it comes from. A phosphate remover will also take out the silicate.

i have the same problem can u just scrub it off the front glass?

that is what i do.

Scrubing gets rid of the symptom, not the problem. A PO4/Si remover will get rid of the problem.
