How big can Asterna get?

Just found one that is nearing the size of a quarter. Have never seen any larger than 3/16" or so.

This one is a MONSTER - how big can these things actually get?

If it is that large it is probably a Trochus snail not an Astrea. They look very similar... bit get significantly larger.

In my experience the bigger ones like that turn out to be coral munchers. What colour is its top side? If it has any red on it, get rid of it or put it somewhere were there aren't corals for it to prey on.

Thanks - I'll get him into our secondary system and he can make buddies with all the crabs.
