That is very cool.
Have you had to move corals away from it?
How does that hammer fair being so close?
I ask because my nem is right next to a large hammer colony and I was wondering what I might expect as they close in on each other.

aww man i clicked on title just to say thats what she said but someone beat me to it

The hammer is fine, but the two of them together have pretty much decimated the orange Montipora Cap. that is between them.

Your RBTA looks really great! :)

I've had several that grew up to 18" in diameter in my 75G; the width of my 75. In time, it will split naturally.

Thanks for sharing!

**** i was thinking of putting a rbta in my 30 gallon but not anymore...itd be like a horror movie in there

HOLY SHNIKIES! that is one huge RBTA... I have one and it is probably 4" in diameter... I love them.. that thing is a monster! good job.

Bothered only a candy cane, and only for a short time. Heck, as good as he eats he can have the candy cane as far as I'm concerned.

Does he still pluck the snails off the glass lol?

No man dont be scared of one. This is sort of an anomoly, They usually dont grow that fast. Go for it just get a small one and dont feed it very often and it wont morph into this

I was told the long tentacle anemones had to be target feed because they arn't filter feeders. Can you elaborate? I was going to by one, but when I was told this, I just decided to go with the bubble tip because they are filter feeders and I'm to lazy to target feed.

Bubble tip is the norm in our aquariums. They seem to be the most reef friendly. Others like a Carpet nem might get a fish or two I've heard. The long tentacle nem may in fact be a bubble tip nem that just doesnt bubble its tips. Lots of people say that when their nem was smaller it bubbled more. I've seen more bubbleing after my nem split and were 3 smaller ones. I'm sure someone on here can clarify further.

I've only had bubble tipped nems.

This is</em> a Bubble tip... it just "bubbles" now and then. Usually its tentacles are elongated. It pretty much only looks like a BT when it's shrunken at night... but it's still about 6" across then. It used to completely hide under the rock but now it won't fit anymore so it just goes down to the sand and kind of "leans" against the rock, still fairly open in appearance.

Lol yeah I was clear on yours. I hope the Idol is happy up there bud. When he was in Chris's tank he would swim around and pluck all the snails off the glass and mess with whatever you were doing in there. Definattly an Alpha personallity. Does he assume the role in your tank? Chris told me alot of funny stories about that joker, They would play hide n seek, I sorta miss seeing that fish. Glad he went to a good home and still kickin it, Sorry to get off subject I need some sleep!!!!

or you could wait for it to decide the koralia I see in the pic would be a good place to attach itself then you will have lots of little pieces to share

Seriously, it has been attached in one spot for almost two years.

That is a beautiful one-do you think if I copy this and put it on the glass next to mine it might make it grow faster??????
