How do I take care of ( and prevent) red slime algae?

I do believe that nutrients are [B]almost always [/B]a contributing factor thereby being deemed anecdotal.
IME with it there was [B]always[/B] anaerobic area affected. I guess that could be deemed anecdotal.
I've just noticed that it seems to show up in fairly young systems which usually contain pockets of Hydrogen sulfide, once established it seems to subside in frequency of appearance.
