How do you know when your toadstool is dead.

Read that last post back and in no way am i saying all LFS owners are like that. Just meaning over here in England reefing isnt that popular there is probably more reef tanks in Atalanta than in the whole of Britain so i know alot of LFS's over here that give bad advice and none of our large chain pet stores stock reef equipment or marine fish. So smaller stores use it as a way to make money an we just have to do our best to fish out the good advice from the money making advice.

<----- in business to help myself to people's wallets :)

Only difference is sometimes I get to help myself to *more* of your wallet over a longer period of time if I'm honest with you! I totally understood what you were saying. No offense taken here (because I'm not that way). But I've seen it happen and I've had it happen to me back in the day.

The old "greedy LFS syndrome" happens here too. Or at least that's how it's often perceived. I suppose it's that sometimes, other times it's just inexperience or even "difference of opinion". There are plenty of supplements out there that might not benefit, but they do no harm (except to said wallet...) In the case of iodine, some is good but more is NOT better. In fact it can be dangerous if it becomes free iodine (free iodine = toxic).

Funny you mention that reefkeeping isn't that big in the UK... some of my most "intense" customers have been from the UK, and most had tanks across the pond too. Maybe you're in a region where it's not too popular, but there is a good bit of it going on over there.

Both my leathers are shedding right now and look like crud. My small one is a Japanese leather (all green) and it actually looks like the entire body is cracking.

When it's got X X on it's eyes!!!! Just playing :) wish I could help though never seen one die. But at least I can bump it up for you and learn with you.

When they die and you take the rotting mess out of the tank, the aquarist is the one with X X in their eyes.:puke:
