So a while back I saw this vid on Youtube and absolutely fell in love with this <div class="gc_ifarem_title">Sea Star eating and hangin' out - YouTube</div><iframe style="width: 70%; height: 400px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3KJ_WE69r0w"></iframe>
I searched for days and found this:

Is that it just a pillow starfish and you just hope that the colors are as nice? Does anyone have or has seen a live one?

On that note, are there any starfish that are:

1) Reef safe
2) Able to be feed by a 'average' hobbyist? (This excludes Linkias)

1 and 2 seem to be virtually mutually exclusive.

Yes... Fromias "marble" stars are about the hardiest of the bunch. They can & still do perish at a pretty high rate, but your odds are better with a fromia than a linckia.

I waited a long time but finally broke down and got a fromia. He's been a lot of fun to watch and seems to be doing well. I know starvation is a big issue for them but I did my research and think it'll be fine in my system. The pillow stars are cool but a nice fromia is hard to beat!

Fromia Starfish are nice reefsafe and diurnal. I used to keep them often before I got my Harlequin Tusk. I've had several of them in tanks that I've taken care of over the years.
