How long have you been keeping SPS?

I never really though about it until Robb mentioned they have only been keeping SPS in tanks for 10 years or so in Germany. The first I had was an orange monti cap about 7 years ago. I never really bought any SPS untill I found out about arc 3 years ago.Any one know when we started keeping SPS in tanks in the US ?

I remember when Joe, the 20,000 gallon reef guy, spoke he talked about when the the first SPS corals came to this one store hours away he and others drove and fought over them. I think he said 96 but no too sure.

Fair enough - I knew it was not overly long...

I had a Reef tank in 1996, and I had SPS Corals in it. None of them lived, but they were purchased locally. Then I took a 12 year break from Saltwater.

If someone felt like it they could call House of Fins in Greenwich, CT. They been around since 1957 and I'd bet they would know when SPS started coming to the states.
