I have a 56 gal. cube tank with 150w 14k metal halides over it and my tank is 30in. high, and I was wonder if some millipora will do good closer down toward my sand bed?

At 30" your par levels are most likely not sufficient enough at the bottom but may be ok at 16". MAYBE. I have a par meter and come to Cleveland quite often. I also have a great friend and customer that lives up there that I would let borrow the meter so she could test for you. Funny enough she has a cow fish.

Still, with what Chris said, and I agree, your best bet is to stay no more than 16" from the surface.

Ok thanks. I have been putting all of my sps corals on top and at about half way down, and all of my Lps and zoas down on the bottom. Is was just wondering if I could because I have some room down there I would like to fill in. So I will just buy some other types of Lps corals I don't have to fill in

You should always start your sps low and raise slowly. You may find that 1 or 2 color up even better at a little lower par level. Why the big NEVERMIND. I was just offering to help gain knowledge.

Now that I figured out who you are, you are welcomed to borrow the par meter and it was a pleasure hanging out for a while the other day and really each time you have come down over the last year or so.

I have been acclimating like that. And I was just wondering since I start them down there could I leave them their? But it is no big deal if they can't I stll have lots of room up top for a few more milli's, cuz that is my favorite type of sps.

And I meant nothing by the nevermind. Just correcting myself for putting the wrong measurment. And I do appreciate your help. I plan on coming down next Wednesday or thursday to buy some more of those acro's you had.

looks like he had given us the wrong tank dimensions... 30in was the width . not the height.... i think he was just correcting the misinformation
