How many saltwater aquariums are there in Atlanta?

I would say about 70% are fish only and 30% are reef. If I had to guess.... Yeah dude there is no telling how many people have salt tanks in Georgia

Not quite sure how you'd determine that. Definitely far fewer that the total number of freshwater tanks in the area.

What percent do you think are fish only versus reef?

aquariums filled with water/inhabitants?

or empty tanks?

I bet there are more aquariums in peoples garages empty than fully set up in this city. The hobby has been hit hard the last 18 months or so - lots of "getting out" threads and less "Just starting out" threads..

Dave is just counting his own tanks....lol

I was just thinking that as well...look at the home page. There were 22 For Sale threads on the home page out of 24 earlier today.

If there are 5 million people and if 1 in 1000 have a saltwater tank, then that would be 5000 tanks. That would be about 1 in 300 "households".

I was really wondering because I was trying to work out how many hobbyists there are for each local fish store with a significant saltwater department.

I'm so confused I don't even know how to ask what you mean! :)
