how many shrimp do you have?

I bought 2 peppermint shrimp, but they never seem to stay alive. Actually, come to think of it, I think my marine betta might have ate em.

10 gallon tank:
1 cleaner shrimp
2 sexy shrimp
4 ghost shrimp (that spawn and provide food weekly)

10 gallon:

Full of ghost shrimp (feeder shrimp). Atleast 40. They produce young continually, and my tank has a constant supply of 'dots' on the glass that resemble shrimp more than copepods.

46 gallon tank:

1 cleaner shrimp
1 fire shrimp

yeah, up until you... the closest one to me had 7 in a tank over twice the size of mine...

currently 1 coralbanded shrimp, and 1 peperment shrimp. in the summer i have or try to keep about 40 to 50 hardback shrimp.

I agree. I had 2 cleaners when I first started this tank and they lived about 2 years or so and passed on. Someone was saying old age as they could have been sold as XL. I now have 2 cleaners, 2 fire, 1 pep, and 1 pistol. However I had just replaced the cleaners and one didn't make it. This is why I got him another buddy yesterday. So to have a Shrimp that hangs around a week or so and croaks (it was properly acclimated, 2 hr drip) does kinda sting the pocket book, but what can you do. They are awesome to look at. Even my fire's have become less reclusive and will come out and look at you every so often.

None yet, but will be getting two Sexy Shrimp, a Pistol/Goby pair, a Harlequin, and maybe a skunk.
