Is there any way to tell based off the website? I see volts and hertz, is there a conversion for amps? I found a calculator to convert volts to watts but it also requires amps..... Just trying to found out which pump will draw less power and less heat. TIA

Edit: NM just found the amount of amps in the manual. Out of curiousity is there another way to convert?

Edit: Anyone know of another pump under/around 200 gph that pulls less/around than 10 watts off hand? cheaper than $10.

Just need some pumps to move some water without adding too much heat and power consumption.

Actually that gives you VA (volt-amps) But, for all practicle purposes that is the same as watts.

You got that backwards. Ohms law states V x I = W. :-) Therefore, watts devided by volts eaquals amps. But only in single phase and if there is no reactance. :-)

Edit: OK, I see you corrected yourself. Hehehehe Maybe I will hire you some day if I ever get a job. :-)

yeah I wrote it backwards, trying to help buddy out

Edit: when I first joined arc I wrote you a message looking for a job, you never wrote me back..lol. but I'd love to work for you!

I didn't get it. Sorry about that. We were extreamly slow anyway (which is why I am now out of a job). But, I have a couple irons in the fire now. Where are you working these days?

Yeah, check out Koralia's

FWIW-
I'm a fan of Harbor Freight for some cheap Chinese knock-offs, BUT...

I'm not using their pumps in my saltwater reef tank!

I have spent far too much on the rest to take a chance on their 'QA' (if you can call it that).

JMHO

That pump draws roughly 8.4 watts but can't be more accurate without knowing the power factor of the pump.
