Ok guys I need your experience on sps corals I'm debating whit some of my friends on how many watts do we need to set up a 125 gallon 6 feet long 22 inch deep 2 inch sand bed.
Is going to be only sps acros , millies, montys etc, some guys said 6 watts por gallon and some said 9 watts por gallon so all your guys whit experience please let me know.
Thank you.

If i where setting up a sps tank 6 ft. Id go with 3 400w metal halides with led or t5 supplement for color pop.
So that 9.6w per gallon. But i never followed watts per gallon. Judged more by trial and error. See how corals grow and coral colors and adjusted as needed. Metal halide= growth, led = color and t5 a bit of both imo.

You have success using these for your sps tank? How long if so? Pics or it didn't happen! :)

My tank is only 8 months old so it may not count for much; but my mix of sps, lps and softies are all growing great! I have two reefbreeder Photon32's over a 210gal btw.

I would not be too concern with the wattage per gallon. 3 - 400w radium 20k SE bulb with some t5ho supplement would be ideal for optimum coloration of all the sps. For maximum growth, use 2 - 400w and 1- 1000W bulbs with some t5ho supplement.

1000w over a 125? I would think 3x 250w would be more than enough

I use 2x 400w MH and ~300w of LED supplementation over my 4x2x2 120g fwiw.
My tank is very sps dominant and I would say I am very pleased with my results. (Every month I have to go in with bone cutters to keep things under control) I will probably be trying some T5 supplementation very soon.
