I am planing to order two 6105 to replace 2 vortech MP40w. Does anyone run them with Apex Controller? Is it easy to setup? How does it compare with Tunze controller?

Thanks in advance for any feedback

Just need the cable to control the pumps. Programming is a bit of a pain if you plan on trying to mimic the Vortec programs. Unless fusion has made it easier, you are going to have to setup a multitude of profiles.

Looks like you'll need a VDM module.

Never used it before but with Fusion it should be pretty easy.

I have full apex. All I need is Apex 2 Channel AquaSurf/Apex to Stream Cable: http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/neptune-apex-2-channel-aquasurf-apex-to-stream-cable">http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/neptune-apex-2-channel-aquasurf-apex-to-stream-cable</a>

thank you

All you'll need are the aqua surf cables. We've been moving a good bit of Tunze's as a good alternative to Vortech pumps. Especially good when you want to angle the flow or need silent operation.

Hit us up if we can help. We're a full line Tunze dealer, btw!

I use full apex and tunze with the cables as listed above. Works well. There is a decent chance of a clicking noise when they turn on from 0 speed. I like mine, but I was surprised about the heat they put into the system. I was cleaning them in about 3 gallons of water and left them running for 2 hours. I was surprised how warm the water was after 3 hours. I love the angle feature though, i have a couple pillars that kind of preclude me from running vortec's.

I came by last Sunday to pick up some ATI bulbs and I did ask 6015. You did not have in stock.

Due to my rock aquascape and SPS growing, two vortech MP40w don't work well anymore. They are wide flow and tear SPS tissue. I need the directable flow

I have 2 fully programmed. Hit me up.

Pickup 2 6105 yesterday from SEA Atlanta. It's bigger than expected but it's super quiet and all corals and fishes really love flow. Tonight, I'm going to connect them to Apex and create some fun profiles.

Thank you, SEA Atlanta
