how to attach frags to rock?

I can get the frag attached to the plug fine, that is not the issue. My problem comes when attaching the plug to the rock. Apply the super glue then quickly put it in it's place on the rock, but since the glue starts to crystallize as soon as it hits the water it is typically no longer 'sticky' when I get the plug where I want it. I'm also using the BRS gel.

What am I doing wrong as it sounds like everyone else has the opposite complaint?

Put a small gob on. When it contacts the water the outer surface hardens but inside is fresh glue. Then, when you press it on the rock it burst the skin and the fresh glue attaches to the rock.

I am kind of new to this. I understand we glue frags to frag plugs. This is done out of the water.

Then we glue the frag plug with the coral to rock that is underwater. OR we might break the frag off the plug and directly glue the frag to rock that is underwater.

To me this defines two seperate "glue" functions.

For the frag plug super glues work fine. I have a hard time with the expoxy glueing frags to the rocks underwater.

It isnt a dumb question at all to me! I have worked with it for a while.

I have found that ECOTECH GLUE does both jobs great! And when the frag is broken from a frag plug I can easily glue just the frag to the rock underwater and it sets up fast!

I dont like the "frag plugs" showing... i like sticking the coral right to the rock.

I have better luck with a larger glob but everyone experience is difference. I wont be able to make the frag swap in February but maybe someone should do a coral gluing seminar at the meeting to show examples of the best way

I will bring my tank. That will give them plenty of room to do LOTS of demonstrations. :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:
