how to eliminate film from GFO

I have rinsed it for 20 min in RODI water until it APPEARS clear but my beautiful new white pukani and white sand are no more. Is there another way to rid the tank of phosphates causing green hair algae thanks, Bubba

This is the liquid I used to cure my pukani for 4 months before I used it in the display tank. My numbers read 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Is there a safe way to use this in the display tank now that it is filled and adorned with "Hair"? Bubba
